Heydt, Deputy <br /> <br />City Attorney, and for its Application for Party Status, would state as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />1, General Nature of the Individual or Group Applying, The <br /> <br />Applicant is the City of Colorado Springs, which is a home rule city <br /> <br />located in the south central part of the State of Colorado. The City of <br /> <br />Colorado Springs has a general population of approximately 212,000, is <br /> <br />located at an elevation of approximately 6,000 feet and is set on an <br /> <br />escarpment between the front range and the high plains. The City has <br /> <br />its own Department of Utilities, and provides electrical, gas, water and <br /> <br />wastewater services not only to its citizens, but also to communities <br /> <br />and individuals in the Pikes Peak Region, In that regard, the City has <br /> <br />undertaken several transmountain water projects which it requires in <br /> <br />order to supply the community with an available water supply in the <br /> <br />years to come. <br /> <br />2, Reasons for Seeking Admittance as a Party.
