B.O The What If Menu

The default lag/loss values were established by SEO and can only be modi-
fied in the central database via I nformix. The current lag/loss values used for
curtailment and relaxation modeling within SPWRMS can be modified by
the user at any time to reflect changing hydrologic conditions within the
basin.

8.2.1 Layout

The Lag/Loss Editor dialog consists of a list of river and tributary
reaches arranged alphabetically along with their associated lag and
loss values. In addition to the reach list is a set of buttons which
allows the user to perform functions on the current set of lag/loss val-
ues (those used in curtailment and relaxation analyses), such as load-
ing values from a previous day, saving the current values to the
SPWRMS database, and resetting current values to the default values.

8.2.2 Current & Default Lag/Loss

Current values for lag and loss are used when the user performs a cur-
tailment or relaxation analysis. Default values were provided by SEO
and are displayed only for reference. These values represent average
conditions based on stream characteristics or from known flows.

Current values are loaded from the database only if a saved set exists
for the day when the user stans the application. Otherwise, if there is
no set of current values in the database for that day, the application
uses the default values. The user may load current values from a pre-
vious date, modify them, and save them as the present day's values.
Alternatively, current values can be loaded from a past date, modi-
fied, and used as values to perform cunailment/relaxation analyses
without saving these values to the database as the present day's val-
ues.

8.2.3 Loading Lag/Loss Data

To load lag/loss values from a previous date, type the date from
which to load data in the Load Values From field and click the Load
button. If no set of values are available for the specified day. you will
be notified and the current set will remain unchanged. Otherwise, the
data from that day will be loaded and displayed and can then be used
to perform curtailment and relaxation analyses.

Because the designated South Platte reaches cross district boundaries
and because all reaches are used in curtailment / relaxation analysis,
the SPWRMS application does not separate the reaches out by water
district. Since the Lag/Loss Editor loads and displays all reaches
within the entire basin, the data transmission time for loading and
saving these data may be long.

mlffi4 <<
