<br />Specific Work Units <br />Park and Recreation Areas Prooram <br />128 FTE throughout Colorado. Staff provide, manage, and plan fishing, picnicking, hiking, <br />bicycling, horseback riding, rock climbing, camping, boating, skiing, hunting, sightseeing, <br />swimming, outdoor environmental education opportunities, and other recreational activities for <br />the users of the areas. <br /> <br />e, <br /> <br />State Recreational Trails Prooram <br />2.0 FTE in Denver. The trails program functions to encourage an increase in riding, hiking, <br />bicycling, and other compatible recreational activities; to assist in providing for the <br />development of trails on public and private lands; and to provide for the needs of specialized <br />recreational motor vehicles. <br /> <br />Reoistration Unit <br />5.0 FTE in Denver. The purpose of the Snowmobile Program is to register snowmobiles and <br />provide funding for the establishment and maintenance of snowmobile trails, related facilities <br />and parking areas. The purpose of the OHV Program is to improve and enhance motorized <br />recreation opportunities across the state while promoting safe, responsible use for OHVs. <br /> <br />Colorado Natural Areas Prooram <br />6.0 FTE in Denver. The Colorado Natural Areas Program preserves, protects and enhances <br />areas in the state having diverse or unique native plant communities, special geologic and <br />paleontologic features and habitats for rare or endangered plants and animals through a <br />statewide system of designated natural areas for educational and scientific research use and <br />benefit of present and future generations. The Natural Areas Program protectS and preserves <br />rare natural resources in Colorado through voluntary cooperative agreements with landowners <br />without state government acquiring land. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />law Enforcement <br />4.0 FTE in Denver. Provide information about Parks rules, policies and procedures. <br /> <br />Statewide Proorams <br />24 FTE in Denver who provide administrative services statewide. <br /> <br />Document Access Requirements <br />Statewide Programs staff are considering imaging storage and retrieval of real estate <br />documents that relate to properties owned by the division. Pages are almost all white and are <br />either 8 1/2" x 11" or 8 1/2" x 14". These original source documents date from the past fifty <br />years to the present. There are currently no backups for these documents. Documents are <br />generated in house by Parks staff, who are currently developing a purge process for them. <br />Statewide Programs staff access the documents once or twice weekly on an ad-hoc basis; <br />external users almost never.
