<br />'. :'CM(}$19, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. ,i.j <br /> <br />Reclamation's Scbe~ule for Y.o~el Development <br /> <br />The water operation studies for the Platte River USBR evaluation <br />study will be done by performing operation studies for three <br />reaches of the river basin, the North Platte River reach from <br />Seminoe Reservoir to Lake McConauahv. the SDuth Plutte River reach <br />rrom Denver, Co to Julesburg, Co [nciuding major tributaries where <br />the CBT project exists, and the Central Platte River reach from <br />Lake McConaughy and Julesburg, Co to the mouth of the Platte. To <br />develop a operation study for the three river reaches in the Platte <br />River basin the following major work tasks need to be done. <br /> <br />Work Tasks <br /> <br />A. study Period for calibration and water operation study is <br />chosen. <br /> <br />B. Historic information is collected from many sources and <br />assembled in useable formats (data base building). To do a <br />,",'ater operation study or analysis of a river basin the <br />following information is needed. <br />1. Water supply or runoff (used measure river flo\"s to <br />determine runoff) <br />2. Water use irrigation, municipal, industrial, hydro power, <br />recreational, and fish & wildlife. <br />a. irrigation information needed for surface water and <br />groundwater irrigation (acres irrigated over time, <br />acreage location, water rights, historic diversions, <br />cropping pattern, climate data to compute irrigation <br />demand, and estimates of losses or returnflows) <br /> <br />b. municipal information needed ( historic diversions, <br />population served over time, water rights, and river <br />return. <br /> <br />c. industrial information needed ( historic diversions, <br />present demand, water rights and river 'return) <br /> <br />d. hydro power information ( plant capacity, <br />efficiency, historic flows through plant, power <br />generation, water rights, and maintenance schedule) <br /> <br />e. recreational and fish & wildlife information needed <br />( use data, and water rights) <br /> <br />3. Hydraulic capacity of structures; reservoirs, diversions <br />dams, canals or pipe lines, and river channels. <br />Reservoirs - area\ capacity\ elevation\ outlets <br /> <br />4. Climate information needed; evaporation, precipitation, <br />temperature, solar radiation, wind speed, etc. <br />
