Plans for Future Contacts,

Plans are being made to contact the State Engineers' Office in
Wyoming to secure water rights infol1Ilation for the Green and
Little Snake Rivers.

Demonstration of the HYDRj:'lSS model has been placed on hold tmtil
HYDRj:'lSS is more fully developed, To insure that the HYDR0SS modei
structure and input data are teclmically adequate, representatives
from potential users' groups will be involved early in the modeling
process and will continue to be involved as an actual test case is
set up, nm, and the model validated. The Service's goal is to have
this early involvement approach become a part of the planning for
future water resource development projects in the basin.

C, Progress on Database Developlrent,

The development of the catalog of UCRB Water and Energy Projects
is now complete and under review. Following the review process
the catalog will be published along with a map or maps of proj ect
locations, Work continues on the Development Network Database
(DNDB) with final keypunching and error checking tmOOrway at WELUT,
Upon completion of the data entry phase, the database will be
evaluated and transferred to FWS field offices in the UCRB.

D, Develop a ~GE iSuatic ~esource Q.atabase (Mi\QRDB) for the UCRB.

Work on the database structure for MAQRDB has been completed and
is tmOOr review, The structure has subsequently been submitted to
the Resource Management ~lethods Group (RM/.l;) at WELUf to secure a
bid for. the redigitizing of river reach maps for the UCRB and data
entry. The group also will be using expertise gained from imple-
menting the Reach File system for EPA to suggest ways in which the
Reach File fishery database and ,MAQRDB can be integrated,

Attached as Exhibit A is the current data fOl1Ilat for the MAQRDB,
The control points referenced are the control points assigned to the
HYDRj:'lSS lvbdel which is discussed later.

Work on collection of input data for MAQRDB contimles with emphasis
on infol1Ilation on water rights, depletions, and return flows taking
priority. Water right information has been ordered from the Colorado
Department of Natural Resources and contacts were made in Utah to
obtain water rights infol1Ilation on the Duchesne River,
