<br />1070 <br /> <br />Subtask 2.01 <br /> <br />Phase II Instream Flows <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Modify Phase II model input to reflect changes in the way instream flow reaches are <br />specified to Statemod. This subtask brings the model application into conformance <br />with the current version of the code before the application itself is enhanced. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Approach: <br />L STATE: Modify STATEMOD program to consider upstream and downstream terminus of <br />instream flows to avoid the current necessity of duplicating the same instream flow below <br />each structure in the reach, <br />2, RTIWR: Modify Phase II 'historic', 'calculated', and 'baseline' data sets to reflect a dual <br />terminus treatment of instream flow reaches. Specifically, change the river network file to <br />remove "extra" instream flow nodes, edit or recreate the ,dds file as necessary, and edit <br />instream flow files to reflect new data input format: Return flow locations should be <br />reviewed and changed if necessary to make sure that every return flow re-enters the stream <br />at an existing node. <br />3. RTIWR: Execute the modified model with the Phase II 'calculated' and 'historic' scenario <br />demand set. With the "big pictur~ plot" feature of the Statemod GUI, prepare a single big <br />picture plot comparing (annual average diversion) for the modified model output to the <br />Phase II output. The big picture plots will be supplied to the State, and if large differences <br />are noted, the State will be responsible for additional modifications or executions or <br />comparisons (possibly requiring a change order), <br />4. STATE: Document the modification of STATEMOD input files to represent upstream and <br />downstream terminus and the comparison of the Phase III and Phase II runs in a 1-2 page <br />draft memorandum. RTI will review memorandum and provide written comments to the <br />State, <br />5. STATE: Finalize memorandum. <br /> <br />Deliverables: <br />1, Modified Statemod Program to consider upstream and downstream terminus of instream <br />flows. <br />2. Modified Phase II input data sets to reflect dual terminus treatment of instream flows, <br />3. Two model executions, and two big picture plots comparing the average annual diversions <br />between the Phase II output and the modified model output. <br />4, Draft memo <br />5.
