Examples of the way the information <br />developed during inventory of the eastern rivers has been used include: <br /> <br />March 1978 - House Subcommittee staff request for a list of top <br />quality rivers in the northeast. <br /> <br />March 1978 - State of New York request for assistance in the <br />development of a resource evaluation handbook as part of the <br />State's effort to define a Statewide system. <br /> <br />May 1978 - Senator Biden's request for guidance on the potential <br />of the White Clay Creek in Delaware for national designation. <br /> <br />July 1978 - Representative Harrington's request for an assessment <br />of the Merrimack River in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. <br /> <br />August 1978 - Secretary Andrus's request that we work with the <br />American Power Company to develop a mitigation package for a nuclear <br />power plant proposal on the James River. <br /> <br />'; <br /> <br />August 1978 <br />with VEPCO'to <br />sites. <br /> <br />Virginia Electric Power Company request to work <br />avoid possible confrontations on potential power <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />September 1978 - French and Pickering Creek lvatershed Association <br />request for an assessment of the potential of the creek for <br />national designation. <br /> <br />September 1978 - Governor DuPont of Delaware request for an <br />assessment of the potential of the Choptank and Leipsic Rivers <br />for national designation. <br /> <br />October 1978 - Senator Muskie's request for guidance in working <br />with the Sheep scot River Watershed Association in assessing the <br />potential for national designation. <br /> <br />October 1978 - State of Maine. Two requests came in to help the <br />State evaluate scenic rivers, one from the Land Use Commission and <br />the other as part of the State's Critical Areas Program. <br /> <br />October 1978 - State of Maryland request for evaluation and tapes <br />of the Monacacy and Pocomoke Rivers. <br /> <br />December 1978 - State of New Hampshire - request for tapes of <br />rivers to assist in the development of a rivers program. <br /> <br />f <br />
