BEFORE THE FEDERAL POWER COMMISSION

APPLICATION FOR PRELIMINARY PERMIT,

PROJECT NO. 1503

1. State of Arizona, having its office and principal place of business
at Phoenix, in the State of Arizona, being desirous of obtaining a
license unaer tlw FedFll'al"Pll\'l9l' .lot, hereby makes application to the
1l'ederal Power Commission for a preliminary pennit for 24 months, far
tlw projeC't described herein~ This application is made in order that
the applicant may secure and maintain priority for a license under
the Federal Power Act mile procuring data and performing the acts
necessary to perfect an application for such license.

Land Commissioner under the following law:

Sec. #3009. WATER APPROPRIATION. The Commissioner
shall make and file ws.ter locations and appropriations,
and reservoir sites, dam sites and power sites,
wherever such location and filing may be deemed
advisable for the irrigation of any state llUlds, and
for and on behalf of the state acquire the title to
such water appropriation. reservoir, dam, power or
other sites and rights of way, as may be necessary
or advisable for the reclamation and irrigation of
state lands. Such locations and filings shall be
in the name of the state and the prooedure shall
conform to that provided for the acquisition of such
rights by private citizens.
