<br />001819 <br /> <br />2527.32 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />TITLE 2500 - WATERSHED MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Follow the specific requirements of Executive orders 11988 <br />and 11990 in preparing the planning criteria to guide the <br />Regional and Forest planning process, and management <br />direction concerning floodplains and wetlands. <br /> <br />2527.32 - Data Needs for Floodplain and wetland Evaluation. <br />Establish the appropriate type, scope, and intensity of <br />study and analysis for any particular area and proposed <br />action through the land and resources management planning <br />process. Chapter 20, FSH 2509.17, contains guidelines for <br />selecting the appropriate method for delineation of flood- <br />plains for the level of study to be made. <br /> <br />2527.33 - Provision for Minimizing Flood Damaye. Minimize <br />adverse impacts to improvements wlthln floodp ains and <br />wetlands. Avoid new construction or substantial improve- <br />ment of a structure or facility in a floodway unless it is <br />consistent with the criteria of the National Flood Insur- <br />ance Program or any more stringent Federal, state, or local <br />floodplain management standards, and one of the following <br />conditions exist: <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1. It is a functionally dependent use, such as a <br />bridge or culvert. <br /> <br />2. It will facilitate an open space use. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3. It is designed to preserve, restore, or enhance the <br />natural and beneficial resources or uses of the floodplain. <br /> <br />2527.34 - Documentation of Analyses and Evaluations. See <br />FSH 1909.15, chapter 20, for documentation procedures. <br /> <br />2527.4 - Restrictions. lfuen property in floodplains or <br />federally owned wetlands or portions of wetlands is pro- <br />posed for lease, easement, right-of-way, or disposal to <br />nonfederal public or private parties, (1) reference in the <br />conveyance documents those uses that are restricted under <br />identified Federal, State, or local floodplain or wetland <br />regulations; and (2) attach other appropriate restrictions, <br />which have been identified in the environmental analysis, <br />to the use of the properties by the grantee or purchaser <br />and any successors. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />*-FSM 3/86 AMEND 48-* <br /> <br />e <br />
