FEB-07-1997 11:08

DEPT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

1 303 866 4058 P.05/14

Off2172

We will need to have eacl. Wnt~r Commissioner provide us wilh a
report by Tuesday of euch week listing the names of all Lh~
active diversions in your Oistrict (not shut off in previous
Steps) above the Grand Valley Canal which are juniur lo the
400 crs decree that ace not being cevldced or augmented, nnd
qualify to be replaced from Creen Mountain slorage. In
addition to the name of each diversion, we would like to have
the amount of diversiun recorded at your last inspection and
the date of that observation. The diversluns listed in yuur
Report should be almust identical to the lisL uf diversions you
previously submitted under tbe 119.47 cfs decree since the
priorities between this decree nnd the ]19.47 crs decree nr.
very close.

The office staff will use your reports to determine which
decrees are actually having their consumptive use replaced by
Green Mountain. At some period we will be replacing
consumptive use for all the diversions in your weekly reporl
JUDior to the 400 cfs decree and there will still not be
sufficient water to satiSfy the decree. At that time the
400 cfs decree will be allowed to dry up on a falling river as
no reservoir releases can be made to satisfy the power decrd~.
When the water diverted under the 400 cfs decree diminishes,
the ditch will develop the capacity to carry its junior decr~e
of 23.5 cfs and this water will be delivered from the Green
Mountain 66,000 AF pool.

- 4 .
