<br />BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

<br />OF ALAMOSA COUNTY

<br />Resolution No. 85-G-19
<br />
<br />Re: Resolution requesting the Governor to exercise
<br />emergency disaster powers in connection with the flood of the Rio
<br />Grande River of June 10, 1985.
<br />
<br />Commissioner McCoy moved for the adoption of the
<br />following ~esolution. Commissioner Amaya seconoed the mot1on.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, an emergency now exists in Alamosa County; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Alamosa 'county is expected to suffer aerioue- damage
<br />and injury to ita citizens and its property; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, a disaster appears to be imminent; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, this emergency and imminent; disaster have been
<br />caused by excessive snow pack run-off and"consistently high
<br />temperatures over a very short period of time; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the cost of restoring public safety and welfare may
<br />be beyond the capability of this County.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
<br />Commissioners of Alarnosa ~ounty, hereby declares an emergency to
<br />exist, with imminent threat of disaster, and
<br />
<br />The Board of County Commissioners of the county of Alamosa
<br />hereby requests the Governor of the State of Colorado to declare,
<br />by executive order or proclamation, a disaster emergency in the
<br />area affected by the flood of the Rio Grande River of June 10,
<br />1985, which areas include the fOllowing described property:
