PROCLAHATION

DISASTER EMERGENCY. IN ALAMOSA, GARfIELD AND RIO GRANDE COUNTIES

WHEREAS, spring snowmelt has caused flooding conditions to exist
in A1amosa, Garfield and Rio Grande counties in the State
of Colorado; and

WHEREAS, said flooding has resulted in significant damage to public
and private property in A1amosa, -Garfield and Rio Grande
counties; and

WHEREAS, immediate assistance is required to protect public health,
to reduce further damage, to ensure publ ic safety; and to
render emergency relief;

NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Richard D. Lamm, Governor of the State of
Colorado, under the powers vested in me under Secti on 28-2-104 of
the Colorado Disaster Emergency Act of 1973, DO HEREBY DECLARE that
a state of emergency exists in A1amosa, Garfield and Rio Grande
counties, for. the reasons set forth above, and that the
aforementioned areas within the state are entitled to aid, relief
and assistance, pursuant to the Colorado Disaster Emergency Act of
1973, and as may be available under the provisions of federal law.

This Executive Order shall expire after thirty (30) days, unless
otherwise extended.
