(g) the Colorado River Wildlife Council; <br /> (h) the Army Corps of Engineers; <br /> (i) the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ; <br /> (j) the Department of Agriculture; <br /> (k) the Department of the Inter ior; and <br /> (1) the Department of State. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The resulting 60-person Task Force provided for a wide <br />variety of local, tribal, state, and federal interests and <br />viewpoints with respect to the establishment and maintenance <br />of the Floodway. A listing of the Task Force membership is <br />provided in Appendix E of this report. <br /> <br />The Task ForCe was chartered and operated under the <br />provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The <br />charter for the Task Force was signed by the Secretary of the <br />Interior on January 23, 1987 and filed on February 2, 1987. <br />The charter was reviewed by the Secretary on October 14, 1988 <br />and refiled on October 21, 1988. Copies of the charters are <br />contained in Appendix D of this report. <br /> <br />The Task Force is to exist until such time that the <br />Secretary of the Interior has filed with the congressional <br />commi ttees the Floodway maps described in Section 5 (b) (2) of <br />PUblic Law 99-450, subject to the review and rechartering <br />pursuant to Section 14 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. <br /> <br />To carry out its assigned duties, the Task Force <br />organized itself and created a 13-member steer ing commi ttee <br />and 6 working committees, including a special working <br />committee composed of Indian Reservations' representatives. <br />Chairpersons were selected for each of the committees. <br />Technical and organizing subcommittees were formed by the <br />respective working committees to develop work plans and draft <br />recommendations. The Task Force met officially, with prior <br />notices in the Federal Register, on June 30, 1987, July 27, <br />1987, September l7, 1987, October 25, 1988, and <br />. The working committees and their <br />------....,.-------- <br />subcomm1ttees met on separate occasions as required. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Task Force is to file a report which includes <br />recommendations on the establishment of the Floodway and on <br />the management of existing and future development within the <br />Floodway with the Secretary of the Interior, the House <br />Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, the Senate <br /> <br />1-3 <br />
