McDERMID <br />Water Resources Project Management <br /> <br />RAMSAY M. McDERHID, project manager with Dames & Hoare, has a <br />diversified background in the planning, design, and construction of <br />water resources and flood control projects and associated environmental <br />amenities. His responsibilities include report preparation, supervision <br />of planning and design teams, establishment of design criteria, specific- <br />ation writing, cost estimating, construction scheduling and supervision <br />of the preparation of construction drawings. <br /> <br />At Dames & Moore, Mr. McDermid has served as project manager for an <br />irrigation feasibility study which included evaluation of hydrologic, <br />agricultural, economic and social aspects of the project. He has also <br />worked on the design and preparation of contract documents for a <br />large tailings disposal project, which included an earthen dam, slurry <br />pipeline, and slurry pump station. <br /> <br />Before joining Dames & Moore, Mr. McDermid spent two years with <br />Gingery Associates, Inc. of Englewood, Colorado as project manager for <br />the design of a $7:5 million drainage improvement.project for the <br />Denver Metropolitan area Urban Drainage Control District. His work <br />included establishing and monitoring a CPM flow chart; setting up and <br />scheduling surveys, soils tests, mapping, rights-of-way and utility <br />office and field research; scheduling and directing civil engineers <br />in hydraulic and structural design and preparation of construction plans <br />and specifications; and extensive coordination with several public agencies. <br /> <br />Other work while with Gingery Associates, Inc., included serving as <br />project manager for the construction management phase of a $600,000 <br />drainage improvement project for the City of Lakewood, Colorado. <br />Responsihilities included supervision of a resident engineer and <br />resident inspector in inspection, materials testing, construction surveying <br />progress payments and liaison between the owner and the contractor. <br />
