<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1) The carrying capacity and the public's <br />perception of what constitutes a quality visitor <br />experience on Bille Mesa lnumbers of boats, any <br />use conflicts such as fishermen/jet skiers/water- <br />skiers/windsurfers) has been determined and <br />evaluated in light of resource management and <br />visitor use criteria. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />2) The appropriate levels of additional launch <br />and/or marina facilities, if any, and their <br />location(s) have been determined. <br /> <br />3) Reservoir elevations are cooperatively <br />maintained at appropriate levels throughout the <br />year consistent with quality recreational <br />experiences and protection of natural and <br />cultural res.ources. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />· BLUE MESA - Develop a cooperative <br />approach with adjacent land management <br />agencies, private landowners, and other <br />federal, state, and local agencies to protect <br />viewsheds seen from Blue Mesa that are <br />critical to providing quality recreational <br />experiences. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) Viewsheds remain generally natural and <br />undeveloped as seen from the reservoir. <br /> <br />2) Viewsheds that are critical to providing quality <br />recreational experiences for park visitors are <br />protected from inappropriate development. <br /> <br />3) Appropriate developments are aesthetic, blend <br />into the surrounding landscape, complement the <br />natural scenery, and have a minimal impact on <br />the affected environment. <br /> <br /> <br />· LAKE ARMS - Provide a diversity of <br />recreational experiences appropriate to the <br />lake arms. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) Obtain public perceptions of appropriate levels <br />and types of use, considering both the human <br />experience and resources. <br /> <br />2) Recreation activities are consistent with desired <br />visitor experiences in the lake arms. <br /> <br />3) Backcountry campsites (boat in and hiking) are <br />located and managed to minimize impact to <br />park resources and provide a quality experience. <br /> <br />· LAKE ARMS - Develop a cooperative <br />approach with adjacent land management <br />agencies, private landowners, and other <br />federal, state, and local agencies to protect <br />viewsheds seen from the lake arms that are <br />critical to providing quality recreational <br />experiences. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) Viewsheds remain natural and undeveloped as <br />seen from the reservoir. <br /> <br />2) Viewsheds that are critical to providing quality <br />recreational experiences for park visitors are <br />protected from inappropriate development. <br /> <br />· INNER CANYON - Provide a diversity <br />of recreational experiences appropriate to the <br />inner canyon. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) Appropriate flatwater recreation activities are <br />consistent with desired visitor experiences in the <br />inner canyon. <br /> <br />2) Commercial services for the backcountry are <br />consistent with the commercial services <br />management plan, ensuring quality visitor <br />experience in a secluded primitive environment. <br /> <br />3) Solitude is maintained for a secluded <br />backcountry experience. <br /> <br />4) Backcountry campsites are located and managed <br />to minimize impact to park resources, consistent <br />with a quality visitor experience. <br /> <br />5) Hiking trails are located and maintained to <br />provide safe visitor access, consistent with <br />resource management principles. <br /> <br />· CANYON RIM - Develop a cooperative <br />approach with adjacent land management <br />agencies, private landowners, and other <br />federal, state, and local agencies to protect <br />view sheds seen from the canyon rim to <br />protect resources and enhance interpretive <br /> <br />00'2122 <br />
