All
users of SPWRMS access a central Informix database which resides in Denver on DbServer

Currently, the server application is currently installed on two UNIX workstations-both
DbServer and Hydro in Denver. The SPWRMS centralized lnformix database also resides
in Denver. Remote access to the SPWRMS application and central database from
MoreRain in Greeley is currently handled via remote X-graphics display. However,
because of the delayed response time for the spatial map display, this strategy is not ideal.
When lnformix INETbecomes available on MoreRain, the SPWRMS application will then
be installed locally. greatly decreasing graphics delays.

The Database

For the SPWRMS user, it is important to know about the application database that all infor-
mation transmitted and received by the server is stored in a central database shared by all
SPWRMS users. including remote PC-SPWRMS users.

Using this Manual

In the text of this manual, words which refer to items within the SPWRMS graphical user
interface appear in a Helvetica typeface, such as: the Edit menu, or the Export button.
References to other application software appear in italic font, as in: Microsoft Windows.

Administrator's Manual

1
