. ~.. ,pp08~8

.'
October 21,1996

Page 3

Task 3.04 - Add Aggregated Structures to Network

Meg then introduced a question about how to represent the Green River. The question arises because the
Yampa flows into the Green River above the State Line, and influences how to set nodes in the river
network (Task 3.04). It was decided that:

· the most downstream calibration point in the model will remain the gage at Deer Lodge Park

· in order to represent consumptive use within Colorado, and in the Green River drainage, we will
show the Yampajoining the Green River. Baseflow for the Green River will not need to
replicate actual conditions on the Green but must be adequate to supply the irrigated lands in the
basin. Streamflow at the model's terminal node will not be indicative of historical or predicted
gage values.

· this boundary condition will need to be eXplained clearly in the model's executive summary.

· as a result of this approach, aggregated areas ADY_0026 and ADY_0027 have to be reorganized;
Meg will generate new exhibits but the State can review. the draft memo submitted today.

Ray Bennett noted that the approach he took with the White River, in which aggregated nodes were
inserted above gages rather than below, was out of his scope. The Yampa River scope is not specific as
to how aggregation nodes should be inserted, although the intent was probably the same as for the White
River.

Future Progress Meeting Schedule

The following meeting dates were set:

. Friday, November I (some people unavailable on Thursday)
. Thursday, November 14
. Thursday, December 5 (skip Thanksgiving week)
. Thursday, December 19

Meetings will be at 8:30 a.m. in Boyle's office unless notified otherwise.

copies to: Ross Bethel, CWCB
Ray Bennett, SEO
Ray Alvarado, CWCB

DN.C72-10l-l1/mf
