Specific Information on (and by) the Following Segments <br /> <br />Green River - Utah/Colorado line to Gates of Lodore <br /> <br />Green River - Gates of Lodore to Colorado/Utah line <br /> <br />r <br />I <br /> <br />Yampa River in Dinosaur Natiqnal Monument <br /> <br />(Note: In this chapter we are focusing in on the study <br />area specified by Congress and as such we need to "prove <br />up" on the issues such as "outstandingly remarkable," <br />uniqueness, those things which would be preserved by <br />designation, those things which would be preserved without <br />designation, and those things which will be lost because <br />of what will or won't be done.) <br /> <br />! <br />I <br /> <br />(Also note: Whether items are of interest to the scientific, <br />educational, or only the layman community. Also of <br />significance is whether species are endemic or resultant <br />from man's modification;) <br /> <br />1. Geology - Description of general materials and structures <br />(Be sure to cover things which are unique, outstandingly <br />remarkable, of scientific, educational and, layman's <br />interest, including caves.) <br /> <br />2. Soils - Include a good inventory and then some statements <br />regarding any significant interrelationships that could <br />exist with particular soils, the study's alternatives, <br />and effects of dam closures on Green. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />3. Climate - Variations of regional climate in canyons <br />(e.g. wind effects, and the effect of Flaming Gorge <br />Reservoir on making the climate on the Green River <br />colder ~hould be given here.) <br /> <br />4. Vegetation - General description of existing vegetation, <br />effect of dam closure on Green River vegetation . <br />Indicate other man-influenced vegetation and endemic <br />species, unique, con~on, outstandingly remarkable, layman, <br />scientific, or educational interest . <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />5. Fish and Wildlife - General discussion of the species <br />utilizing the corridor, note unusual varieties, rare <br />anrl endangered species, endemic and non-endemic species, <br />effects of dam closures on the Green, interesting eco- <br />system relationships, and scientific, educational, or <br />layman's interest. <br /> <br />5 <br />
