<br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />An important aspect of this proposal is that each of the <br />units maintain their individual identities, The existing units <br />are not enlarged, The proposed additional units complete what is <br />truly a magnificent natural mingling of scenic recreational <br />opportunities for the public to use and enjoy. Existing <br />permitted uses of each area are proposed to be maintained. <br /> <br />My hope is this proposal, if introduced as legislation <br />and adopted by the Congress, will give proper recognition to the <br />nationally significant and interrelated geologic formations that <br />bring all these units together. Such a proposal will serve to <br />raise the level of recognition and use by tourists in the region <br />and the nation. There are obvious economic benefits that will be <br />realized by more tourists who stay longer to participate in the <br />pleasures offered by the Black Canyon National Park and Scenic <br />Recreation Area and the hospitality of people of Western <br />Colorado. <br /> <br />****** <br /> <br />~ <br />~tv <br />~ <br />~ <br />
