<br />001739 <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br />in and along the Green River in the Monument from the Gates of <br /> <br />Lodore downstream to the southern boundary of the Monument. <br /> <br />(2) preserve and protect l6 miles of scenic river characteristics in <br /> <br />and along the Green River from just below Flaming Gorge Dam downstream <br /> <br />to the BLM boatramp at Indian crossing. <br /> <br />(3) preserve and protect 32 miles of recreational river characteristics <br /> <br />in and along the Green River from the BLM boatramp at Indian <br /> <br />Crossing to the Gates of Lodore in Dinosaur National Monument. <br /> <br />Green River from just below Flaming Gorge Dam downstream to the <br /> <br />, <br />I <br />i <br />J <br /> <br />(4) enhance 16 miles of scenic river characteristics in and along the <br /> <br />BLM boatramp at Indian Crossing to meet wild river area criteria <br /> <br />and preserve and protect as a wild river area. <br /> <br />(5) enhance 32 miles of recreational river characteristics in and <br /> <br />along the Green River from the BLM boatramp at Indian Crossing <br /> <br />to the Gates of Lodore in Dinosaur National Monument to meet <br /> <br />scenic river area criteria and preserve and protect as a scenic <br /> <br />river area. <br /> <br />Several components of EQ were eliminated in the second level specification: <br /> <br />(1) Endangered species were eliminated as an EQ component only because <br /> <br />they are already fully protected by the Endangered Species Act of <br /> <br />1973. <br /> <br />(2) Preservation 0: air and water quality was el~minated as components, <br /> <br />since the adequate protection currently exists and this is not a <br /> <br />direct purpose of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Statutes, <br /> <br />regulations, and policies will be recognized in management plans <br />
