.

.

.'

AlThough the Moo~ lake-Staley Mine Pipeline might obtain a rather

substantial yield under its senior right by pre-empting the Rangefy

Project, the rates at which the pipeline cpuld divert would be

quite variable, particularly with its ful I demand of 125.2 cfs.

Notwithstanding the question whether diversions by the Moon lake-

Staley Mine Pipeline under its direct diversion decree could be'

legally stored for'subsequent use, a storage facility would be

required to provide a firm continuous supply from the potential

yield of this right. We estimate that a reservoir having a live

storage capacity of about 60,000 AF would be necessary to regulate

the maximum yield obtainable by the pipeline under its 125.2 cfs

senior right and would provide a continuous constant rate of supply

of about 105 cfs. To provide a constant 30 cfs supply, a storage

faci lity of over 3,200 AF capacity would be required, and The

pipeline would have to be capable of diverting considerably more

than 30 cfs during periods of refi Iling of the ca~ry-over supply.
If storage were not provided:"

I. The right would obtain no supplies abOUT 3 percent

of the time regardless of its operating capacity;

2. If operated at its ful I entitlement of /25.2 cfs~

it would only be able to divert a portion of this

amount about 32 percent of the time; and

3.

If operated at a capacity of 30 cfs, it would only

0251

01)
.....
