.

.

effect on the Range!y Project was evaluated under situations with

the Moon Lake-Staley Mine Pipel ine senior right operating at both

125.2 cts and 30 cfs.

The effect that operation ot the Moon Lake-Staley Mine Pipeline

might have on the Rangely Project yield varies depending upon the

following factors:

I. Whether the pipel ine is used to supply make-up water

tor a closed cooling system in a thermal power plant

or is used tor "once-through" cool ing water.

2. If used to supply make-up water for a closed system,

the volumes of make-up waters required. In this

study such volumes are assumed to be nil.

3. If the pipe! ine is used for "once-Through" cool ing

water in a thema I-.power p I ant, whether' the non-

consumptive pipeline diversions are returned to the

river:

a. At the pipet ine's point of diversion;

b. At a point downstream of both the pipeline's

point of diversion and the Rangely Dam;

c. At,a point downstream of The pipeline's point

of diversion, but upstream of the Rangely Dam;

d.

At a point upstream of both the pipeline's

0251

point of diversion and the Rangely Dam; or

\
..

" ,
,
