<br />000775 <br /> <br />accomplished and funding sources identified so that long-term opportunities can <br />be realized. <br /> <br />The investigations will include five tasks which are: (1) hydrologic analysis and <br /> <br />database development, (2) meetings and field trips for identifying projects and <br /> <br />providing technical assistance, (3) demonstration projects, (4) facilitate long- <br /> <br />term agreements and funding, and (5) preparation of reports, These tasks are <br /> <br />interwoven and will occur simultaneously. Each task is described further below. <br /> <br />The management of these tasks will be accomplished through the South Platte <br /> <br />Lower River Group, Inc. in conjunction with CWCS staff, The framework for <br /> <br />these investigations is based upon maintaining flexibility in the management of <br /> <br />funds and building consensus through mutual education. Staff time of <br /> <br />participants in the South Platte Lower River Group, Inc. will be the primary <br /> <br />source of services to accomplish the tasks. Approximate allocation of CWCS <br /> <br />funding is 5 to 10% for each of Tasks 1, 2, 4, and 5 for a total of 20 to 40% with <br /> <br />the remaining CWCS funds of 60 to 80% used for the demonstration projects of <br /> <br />Task 3. <br /> <br />TASK 1 - HvdroloQic analvsis and database development <br /> <br />An understanding of lower South Platte River flows in relation to water rights and <br /> <br />Compact administration is essential for evaluating future management and <br /> <br />development potentials, In order to locate and operate future water supply <br /> <br />projects in the lower river, one must understand the priority of river calls and <br />
