n l~ ~ i) -....
1:(' t ': .,

baseflow = 2331

Statemod baseflow estimate for July 1989 = 2315

Everthing looks good.

. 06-10-95 During the simulation, Stagecoach reservoir has trouble filling
after its construction in 1978. I think this is due to the way in which it uses its
senior-4'Gounties-storage-right-;-Aeeording-t0.George~If-we.eant-limit-the-4
Counties storage right at Stagecoach to fill during April, May, June, and July
only, we should turn it off'. However, this is a senioI right and the reservoir
cant compete for water to fill without it. Therefore I have turned it back on
and have set its limit to the average volume it can optain from the transfer
point during the months of April, May, June, and July which is 12,979 ACFT
annually,

. 06-12-95 Talked to Kent Holt about historic contents of Steamboat Lake,
Modified the historic end-of-month file to reflect the fact that Steamboat
Lake was near full (23580 ACFT) entering our study period.

. 06-12-95 Noticed that Yamcolo reservoir is being limited to fill to historic
levels from the first fill accounting. According to Elvis of division 6, they do
not administer the first fill rule, Turned off the first fill accounting at
Stillwater, Yamcolo, Allen Park, and Stagecoach,

. 06-12-95 Turned off the operational release for the instream/ minimum flow
below Yamcolo. Need to talk to Ray Bennett to see if the operation type I
checks stream flows before calling for water.

. 06-13-95 Turned off the first fill accounting in all the reservoirs within the
Yampa basin because the division 6 engineers and water commissioners do
not administer the reservoirs using a first fill.

. 06-13-95 Talked to Kent Holt who said that any end-of-month value at Lake
Catamount of more than 7244 ACFT is wrong and should be set to 7422,
There are values of 7800 ACFT that occur in the end-of-month file. Kent
said these were probably periods when the reservoir was so full that it was
spilling and the staff gage toped out at 7800 ACFT, Therefore, I am
modifying the end-of-month file and setting all the 7800 values to 7422,

. 06-13-95 Noticed beginning in 1986, Lake Catamount started releasing
approximately 2000 ACFT during the period OCT through JAN, According
to Kent Holt, these releases were made for the past 10 years or so to eliminate
the build-up of frazzle ice, Kent said this practice would stop probably in
1995, Modified the operations file to force Lake Catamount to make this
historic release,
