irrigation. and for municipal and power purposes. for a district
in the Denver vicinity in the South Platte valley in Colorado.
which has a potential yield estimated at 654.000 acre-feet an-
nually.

Note (a), The City and County of Denver is engaged in the use.
design and construction of a trans-mountain diversion system
which includes the diversion of water from the Colorado River
and its tributaries through the Moffat and Jones Pass tunnels.
and later will include diversions through the above mentioned
Eagle-Blue-South Platte Project. The Denver system. whioh is
now approximately one-fifth oomplete. inoludes diversion. stor-
age. filtration. distribution and other faoilities for a total
average annual use of water from the Colorado River estimated
by the City at 347.000 aore-feet. Allowanoes therefor were made
in connection with previously mentioned projeots.

III - EXPORTATIONS. PLANllING

16. Exportations of Colorado River water for use in other stream basins
in Colorado. in addition to projeots previously mentioned. may ultimately be
developed. partioularly along those seotions of the Continental Divide ad-
joining the Rio Grande basin. in south-oentral Co lor ado . and the North Platte
River basin. in north-oentral Colorado.

Included in this category of future project possibilities are the pro-
jeots surveyed by the U. S. Reclamation Bureau. in oonneotion with the Upper
Rio Grande Joint Investigations. namely.

(1) Animas-Rio Grande. potential yield 130.000 AF.. and
(2) San Juan-South Fork. potential yield 53.000 AF.;
and for use in the North Platte River basin. prinoipally for
" the ir ri gation of pasture lands in J aokson County.
(3) Elk River-Jackson County. potential yield 75.000 AP..

whioh supplies. if available for diversion from the Elk River.
are also needed for the proposed Great Northern Project. to
irrigate lands in Elkhead and Fortification Creeks; and also
may be required for the full development of the oontemplated
Baggs Project and the future Little Snake (Great Divide)
Project.
