Oui.354

L Reformatted the XCONS2 fortran program and prepared it for integration into the
consumptive use model. Began formulating a list of definitions for variables used
in the program that will be included as comments within the program and in the
users' manuaL Began composing comments for sections of XCONS2 and modified
the organization of the program extensively to make the program modular,

2, All the variables for XCONS2 have been defined and a common block format has
been implemented, At this time the model has been modified, but the input and
output are still identical to the original USBR program, At incremental steps, the
fortran program was tested to insure the same results could be obtained as in the
original XCONS2 program, This modified program will replicate the original and
be an option for the user in the CU interface,

3, The model now is being modified, including modifications to the methodology,
The changes are being tracked with RCS, This modified version will also be an
option for the user in the CU interface,

4, Evaluated the 5MB program from Wheeler and Associates to determine what
routines would be required to incorporate the Penman Monteith equations into
CRDSS,

5, Renegotiated the 5MB source code release agreement to not require written
permission to release modified versions of the routines identified in (5),

6, Development has begun to include the input and output data that will be required
by the Penman Monteith grass and alfalfa reference crop equations,

7, Identified input requirements as well as formulas that can be adopted for
computing other consumptive uses,

8. Work has done on establishing a link between spatial characteristics which will be
stored in GIS and the physical and temporal attributes associated with these
characteristics which will be stored in Informix,

U Meetinl!s and Other Communication:

Weekly Consumptive Use Team Meetings (Mondays, 9:30) - These meetings are
used to discuss the technical progress on each of the subtasks and to coordinate
efforts,

Regular attendees - Luis Garcia, Bob Lange, Isam Al-Azzawe, Henry Manguerra,
Chris Graves, and Zhaohui Hong,

~ Areas of Concern:

L Software issues are still not fully resolved, Le, the Informix client-server
connection is down, This has prevented any further investigation into linking
spatial data and their attributes,

2, Time has been spent on QA/QC for data obtained from the state (Le, Irrigated
acreage coverage),

1d Information Needs:

2.0 Technical progress planned for the next period (July):

ZJ. Work Elements Planned:
