<br />(;01S53 <br /> <br />W 7--2-'t:~'-\ <br />~"'G <br /> <br />Colorado River Decision Support System <br /> <br />Progress Report for June, 1994 <br /> <br />Task 1.14(b) Consumptive Use Prototype Development (Phase lIa) <br /> <br />1.0 Technical progress this period: <br /> <br />Ll Technical Work Elements: <br /> <br />Subtask 1: Develop Design for CU Model <br /> <br />L A preliminary design for the CU model has been developed, The CU model will <br />allow the user to calculate CU for each use category listed in the USSR "Colorado <br />River System Consumptive Uses and Losses Report", The user will be able to <br />specify the spatial area and the time period for which they want to determine the <br />water use associated with human activities, <br /> <br />Subtask 2: Develop DMI Software <br /> <br />L A comprehensive listing of the data needed by the consumptive use model was <br />presented to RTi on June 2, This document will be used to start developing the low <br />level DMIs needed to retrieve information from the database,b\ ~v <br /> <br />2, Preliminary work has been started testing the procedures to access some of the <br />data, This is preliminary because the databases are still being developed and we <br />are waiting for the data to be populated by the different database tasks before we <br />can directly access that data, <br /> <br />Subtask 3: Develop GUI <br /> <br />L Ported C libraries necessary for the consumptive use GUI to the SGI from a SUN <br />platform, <br /> <br />2, Improved, enhanced, and documented the IDS library of C routines to be used in <br />the consumptive use modeL .cl...q>Y' <br /> <br />3, We began porting a former project(~ the SGI that will be used as the basis for the <br />consumptive use modeL This should be finished in two weeks, and so far, most of <br />the functions of the GUI work welL <br /> <br />4, The GRASS 4,1 has been installed on the SGI for GIS routines to be used with the <br />consumptive use modeL <br /> <br />5, Work has begun on upgrading the project mentioned in (3) to GRASS 4,1 from <br />GRASS 4,0, <br /> <br />Subtask 4: Develop Users' Manual <br /> <br />L Documented existing XCONS2 model including variable definitions and technical <br />background, These items will be included in the users' manual and the on-line <br />documentation, <br /> <br />2, Developed the first draft of the technical background section for the agricultural <br />category of consumptive use, This item will be part of the users' manual and the <br />on-line documentation, <br /> <br />Subtask 5: Develop Technical Methods for Calculatin2: CU <br /> <br />-J' <br />~ <br /><O-~ <br />~~~ <br />",r ~ <br />
