C. Camps ~re planting trees around the farms <br />for wind breaks, and the board believes th~t it is a eood policy to en- <br />couraGe this planting and induce the land owners to take the best possible <br />CGre of the trees, For the past several years the County Agent has awarded <br />prizes to the land owner who had taken the best care of the trees during <br />that year. The money for these prizes has been collected frou the clifferent <br />towns and organizatiJns in the Valley, and the Pathfinder Irrigation District, <br />by Board action, contributed $7.50 as its part of the prize m)ney. The <br />Pathfinder Irrigation District is endeavoring to secure a tract )f land <br />in Section 23, Township 22, Range 52 for the purpose of eonstructing some <br />ditch riders houses adjacent to cerk,in regulating paints and waste ways <br />along the Low Line Conal. .\ cor.u:rl.ttee has been appointcd'to appraise the <br />land and submit their appraisal to the Board of Directors. <br /> <br />v <br /> <br />The Pathfinder Irrigation District uade it a policy to purchase <br />nuch of the material which it uscs under bi::!s and contre.cts. Some of the <br />major itens on which bids are calle::! for are.6EC~ent, steel, gas and oil, <br />and also public liability on cars and trucks, <br /> <br />Durlnlr the past: year a law was passed by Congress in confornity <br />with the recommendations cantained in the report of the repaynent cor.t- <br />mission under which the Bureau of Recl~:~,tion has authority under certain <br />conditions to reclassify project lands. This re-classification can be <br />had without changing the proje~t oontract but the district will he required <br />to pay at least one-half of the cost of such classification, <br /> <br />The District board was in favor of rcquesting that a reclassification <br />be !:lade in order to obtain a more equitable appropriation of costs and it <br />was decided by the Board of Directors to subnit the matter of reclassi- <br />fication to the water users for their cons~ion at the annual nesting <br />to be hel.d on Jan<.l""7 3O~ 1940. <br /> <br />8 <br />
