Need for the Project

The LDC, with help from the CWCB, has started to develop a
recharge system that will generate augmentation water to be used
to offset the depletions caused by their 13 wells. The LOC as
with all ditch systems that divert water into recharge has
discovered the differences of running a ditch in just the summer
months to running a ditch almost year round. Recharge systems
require that the recharge ponds be filled generally during the
winter months and at rates less than summer diversion rates. The
current LOC diversion does not efficiently divert the required
wintertime water. The LDC would like to rehabilitate their river
diversion to help with these winter diversions. As a positive
side effect, summer diversions would also become more efficient.

Feasibility Study
towline Ditch Company
Diversion Structure
March 2003

2
