,

.-..

.

G. BENfrllS:

The snufy would benefit the PRWCD and other water manag= and users by providing
knowledge of losses and traveltimes for regulated streamflow releases from Trinidad Reservoir.
This knowledge would enable better m.n.gcment of the water by allowing releases to be made at
times when the losses arc smaller and by providing traveltime information to appropriately
schedule downstream use of the releases. Knowledge of losses and traveltimes for streamflow
releases from Trinidad R.escxvoir may provide information needed by the PRWm in its efforts
to obtain a storage decree in John Martin Reservoir, which may provide an oppora.mity to make
water exchanges from John Martin Reservoir to Trinid.d Reservoir. These warer exchanges
could increase the warer supplies available to the Trinidad Project and enhance the project
repayment. The snufy results also could benciit the Slate and Division Engineer; by providing
iriformation needed to help determine if delivery of water to a downstream location would be a
futile call The snufy would benefit the U.S. Geological Survey by increasing knowledge about
the hydrology of the Purgatoire River.

H.
