LRASE OF RESE~VOIR: The River District does hereby <br /> <br /> <br />lease to Denver the capacity and stored water in the Reservoir <br /> <br /> <br />necessary to provide a Firm Annual Yield of no more than 15,000 <br /> <br /> <br />acre-feet. <br /> <br /> <br />4. PURPOSES OF L~SZ: Denver shall use the Reservoir in <br /> <br /> <br />support of exchanges to accomplish transmountain diversions, as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />a. Water lawfullY impounded in the Reservoir may be <br /> <br /> <br />used for exchange purposes by making releases therefrom thereby <br /> <br /> <br />permitting the withholding of water for storage in reservoir(s) <br /> <br /> <br />owned by Denver or diverting water under direct flow decrees owned <br /> <br /> <br />ay Denver in amounts equal in quantity to the amount released from <br /> <br /> <br />tlle Reservoir. <br /> <br />b. Water impounded or directly diverted by Denver by <br />reaso~of such eXChanges may be used in the Denver metropolitan area <br />for municipal purposes only; including domestic, industri aI, yard, <br />ground and parx care, storage, fi~e, sewag~, military and <br />governmental, and the production of electrical energy incidental to <br />permitted purposes only, excluding, however, water for purposes of <br />irrigation for agric~lture. <br />c. When Denver desires to make 'such an exchange it <br />will give the Secretary of the Interior, Division Engineer of Water <br />Division No.5 (or his successor) and the River District written <br />notification thereof. No exchanqe may be made by Denver unless the <br />water to be used in the exchange is on hand and in storage. <br />
