A listing of <br />all checks written prior to this meeting, totaling $204,876.00, was also presented. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the bills for payment in the amount of $1,457,561.19 and the <br />checks written prior to board meeting in the amount of $204,876.00 made by <br />Dick Fletcher, second by Harley Jackson. <br /> <br />Mr. Gobbo and Mr. Burkhalter asked for an explanation of the billing from Gentle <br />Earth Education. The Public Information Officer stated that that was the company <br />through which the educational materials will be distributed to all schools in School District <br />51. A grant was received from the Bureau of Reclamation in the amount of $25,000 and <br />they will pay the District as soon as they are invoiced. <br /> <br />Mr. Jaynes asked what the airfare was for to Boston (item #1240). The Finance <br />Director reported that that was for Tim Moore and George Jachim to attend a Bac\d1ow <br />Prevention Conference at the end of April. <br /> <br />Mr. Gobbo asked if Langhoff Brooks billed monthly and how well both financial <br />advisers were performing? The Finance Director reported that Langhoff was actually <br />doing slightly better than CIC because of the interest rates and the manner in which they <br />invest. They are paid monthly. <br /> <br />Mr. Burkhalter asked what "bac\d1ow prevention software" did. The <br />Superintendent of Transmission & Distribution explained that this is a database software <br />to allow tracking ofbac\d1ow testing requirements. <br /> <br />The Chairman then called for a vote on the motion, which carried. <br /> <br />TAP REOUEST - CECIL MONGER <br /> <br />The Chairman stated that, since Mr. Monger was not in attendance for the second <br />time, with the consensus of the board he was directing staff to proceed with a resolution <br />to this problem following existing District policy. There was a consensus. <br /> <br />INSURANCE BIDS <br /> <br />Chairman of Rate & Policy Committee, Ronald Jaynes reported that Home Loan <br />was the low bidder with all components included. Rate & Policy, therefore, recommended <br />that Home Loan's bid be accepted. The Chairman called for a vote, which carried. <br />
