.

.

,
.

information from the DOQQ's. The contractor will use the 30-meter LandSat TM imagery as an
extra visual check to verify field boundaries and to quickly identify new fields that may be
outside the 1993 data. Two items will be added to the PAT table, Crop_Type and Irrigation
Status.

Work Product:
Quad sized coverage's ready for internal QC.

Task 4 - TGS Internal Quality Control

When each USGS Quad24 sized coverage is completed, topology will be built using the
Arclnfo build command and all coverage parameters will be verified using the & describe
directive and the Dog Creek QAlQC software. Contractor will quality control each quad sized
coverage on-screen before plotting the hard copy plots.

Work Product:
Quality Controlled coverage's ready to be plotted to check plots.

SSI Data Review

SSI will periodically review hard copy plots for the accuracy of field polygon capture before
being sent to the State

Task 5 - Plot Quads for DWR field boundaries/crop typing

The hard copy plots for DWR QC will be created using an automated AML routine running in
ArcPlot. The plots will show the field boundaries as interpreted from the DOQQ's and Landsat
TM imagery. The USGS DRG's will be plotted in the background and the unshaded field
polygons will be drawn over top. Each polygon will be plotted with a unique polygon id as a
text item at the centroid of each polygon. Division Engineer's will be delivered plots every
week to be used by their water commissioners. The water commissioners will compare their
field notes and maps to the field boundaries created from the DOQQ's. The water
commissioners will make red line edits and explanatory annotation on the plots to show where
field boundaries or other features have changed as well as identifying crop types if known. The
contractor needs timely and accurate review and revision of the check plots for the correct
configuration of field boundaries, the status of irrigation and the crop type in the fields. To
facilitate this task the contractor will develop a document to provide step-by-step instructions to
the water commissioner's. The contractor will also meet with each commissioner and staff to
provide training and offer start-up support.

Deliverable to State:
Check plots of each Quad sized coverage showing 2000 Irrigated Acreage field
polygons drawn over the DRG's of that area will be delivered to the Division
Engineer's for their QC and comments regarding crop type and irrigated status.

Page 15
