Collins, CO 80524 <br /> <br />re: GIFFIN DAMS Nos. 1 and 2 <br />DAMIDs 010215, 010216 <br /> <br />Dear Duane: <br /> <br />Thank you for submitting the notice of intent to repair these two Minor-sized Class 3 <br />dams pursuant to Rule 6.A.(3). We have determined that plans and specifications are <br />not required for the proposed work, nor are application and fee required. <br /> <br />We have the following comments regarding the work: <br />1. Soil added to the embankment should be compacted to at least 95% of the <br />maximum dry density as determined by ASTM D 698, at a moisture content not <br />less than the optimum as determined by that method. <br />2. Concrete rubble riprap should have particle shape such that the maximum <br />dimension does not exceed three times the minimum dimension. <br />3. Trees and brush should' ;(": removed from the spillway- entrances and channels. <br /> <br /> <br />Please observe Rule 6.A.(3)(a) regarding monitoring of project status, and provide as-built <br />drawings as stated in that Rule. Our file number for this project is C-1832.
