This alternative
would include the removal and replacement of in excess of 20 struCtures along the ditch. the
reshaping and regrading of approximately 13 miles of ditch. the installation of 55 headgates. the
inslaIlation of 10 meter gates, and the installation of 55 measuring weirs. We have estim3[ed lhe
COSt to do this work as follows.

Item Quantity I Unit price I Total cost I

Checks 20 $ 15,000 $ 300,000
Headgares 55 $ 1.550 $ 85,250
Weirs 55 $ 1,775 $ 97,625
Meter Gates 10 $ 2,070 $ 20,700
Grade Ditch 13 $264,000 $3,432,000
TOTAL $3,935,575

This alternative was nO[ pursued do to the cost involved which is beyond me financial capabilities
of the Company,

Selected Rehabilitation Alternatiye

A review of the system revealed a need to provide nO[ only measurement of water delivered
through the headgates to me individual landowners but also a need to measure flows along me
main ditch. At some time in the past me ditch has had several strucrures that could be used to
control the flow in me ditch and measure the flow in me ditch. At this time, lhe onIy structures
that provide any real comrol or measurement of the ditch are at the beginning, Structure 7, and
near the end, structure 1. There is approximately 6 miles between these two Structures and several
drainages or creeks that provide flow into the ditch and with no memod to control or measure flow
in this reach.

It was determined there is a need not onIy to check the ditch at various locations but to be able to
measure flows at several locations. This will allow balancing the flows into me ditch with the
daily requirements taken Out at the headgates.

With this need in mind, the s011ctures throughout the system were reviewed to determine the best
locations to upgrade or replace current structures and to provide the control necessary to
efficiemly run the system.

A review was also made of the needs to measure the flows from the headgates to the farm laterals

Owl Creek Feasibility

Page 6
