Jan Illian . <br />August 25, 1994 <br />Page 2. <br /> <br />The primary reasons for the cost estimate increase was a result of the geotechnical <br />work that was accomplished last year anq the discovery of the deep pocket of clay on <br />the proposed dam axis which necessitated relocating the axis. This realignment <br />resulted in increased quantities of RCC and excavation and a more intense foundation <br />preparation schedule, Refinement of the estimate included facial concrete and other <br />sundry items that were not included in the original estimate, I have also included an <br />estimate for construction management services and material testing which was not <br />included in the original cost estimate. <br /> <br />I am sorry I was not able to submit this request prior to your diligence towards the <br />amendment you recently sent.
