~

::r
o
-r
1-1
..0

~
\tJ
::l.
.8
~

WORK PROGRAM
FOR
MONUMENT RESERVOIR DAM
GUNNISON COUNTY, COLORADO

I. GENERAL

A. This proposal is for a feasibility report based upon Colorado Water
Conservation Board Guidelines - 1978 and a dam break analysis of the
Monument Reservoir Dam structure based upon readily available
information including spillway sizing and a study of all features
affecting the safety and stability of the existing Dam.

II. WORK PROGRAM - DAM BREAK ANALYSIS & FEASIBILITY REPORT

This work program consists of providing a Feasibility Report and dam break
analysis of the existing structure based upon information from the PHASE I
Inspection Report prepared by Hydro-Triad, Ltd. and the more recent
information obtained by technical personnel from Armstrong & Associates,
Inc., Project #802849 including piezometer readings showing the highest
phreatic water level recorded.

A. Task 1 - Dam Break Analysis

This work will consist of developing a computer model of a possible
dam failure. This data would either support the high hazard
classification of the dam or be used to reclassify the dam to low or
moderate hazard. Additional uses are restriction of development in
the floodway and identifying the flood hazard area.

B. Task 2 - Feasibility Report
Content of Feasibility Study

PART A.

1.

Letter of Transmittal - by Owner

2.

Resolution - by Owner

3.

Reports of Interested Agency -
This is not considered a multipurpose project, therefore
the report will be submitted only to the North Fork
Conservancy District.

PART B.

1.

Prefacing Material - As noted in CWCB Guidelines - 1978.

2.

Chapter I, General Information - As noted in CWCB
Guidelines - 1978.

3. Chapter II, the District - Material to b~ provided by the
Owner. Materials provided by the Owner will be
incorporated in the report.

-1-
