<br />IV-IO <br /> <br />m <br />II <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Ripple, Lost Park, and Little Beaver Reservoirs <br />A three-reservoir concept was analyzed to determine if any efficiencies <br />could be obtilined by using three small reservoirs rather than two medium <br />sized or one large reservoir. The two upstream reservoirs, Ripple and Lost <br />Park, would store and regulate water supplies for irrigation, municipal, <br />domestic, and industrial use. The off,-channel reservoir, Little Beaver, <br />could be useci for additional regulatory storage for industrial use. <br /> <br />Ripple Dam and Reservoir would be located on the North Fork of the White <br />River about two miles upstream from Ripple Creek. The dam would be 200 feet <br />high and the reservoir would have a storage capacity of 28,000 acre-feet, of <br />which 25,000 acre-feet would be active. <br /> <br />Lost Park Dam and Reservoir would be located on Lost Creek about three m iJ,~ s <br />upstream from its confluence with the North Fork of the White River. The <br />reservoir would have a total capacity of about 33,500 acre-feet. The d~m <br />would rise to a height of about 105 feet. <br /> <br />Little Beaver Dam and Reservoir would be located nejlr the mouth of Little <br />Beaver Creek just upstream from Meeker. It would be an off-channel dam <br />about 90 feet high with a reservoir storage capacity of about 20,000 <br />acre-feet. The reservoir inflow would consist of natural streamflows, <br />return flows From irrigation, and diversions to the reservoir from the White <br />River through the Oak Ridge Tunnel. <br /> <br />The de 1 i very ~;ystem for the i rri gat i on and i ndustri a 1 coal deve 1 opment wou 1 d <br />consist of a diversion dam on the North Fork and a 13-mile pipeline along <br />the North Fori: and Big Beaver Creek to the 3000-foot tunnel through Oak <br />Ridge. The d!!livery system for municipal, domestic, and oil shale water <br />would consist of releases to the North Fork when direct flows were <br />insufficient.
