STATUS REPORT ON COMANCHE RESERVOIR PROJECT <br /> <br />Water Operations Manager John Gauthiere said the contractor, AS1 RCC, Inc., <br />was given a Notice to Proceed on June 15th. Items of work on this project <br />include a new roller compacted concrete spillway, a new embankment, access <br />roads, and various other components which are necessary to stabi tize the dam <br />and alleviate seepage problems. Mr. Gauthiere made a slide presentation <br />detailing the construction activities. It was noted that efforts to preserve <br />the water quality downstream of the construction have been successful. Mr. <br />Bohlender complimented Mark Rybus and the staff for their efforts in <br />convincing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to withdraw their objections to <br />the "no impact" declaration made by the Corps of Engineers. The Corps of <br />Engineers then issued the 404 Permit, which was needed before the contractor <br />could begin work on the project. <br /> <br />7. CONSIDERATION OF AN OFFER TO PURCHASE ONE CONTRACT RIGHT OF LAKE <br />LOVELAND <br /> <br />This offer consisted of one contract right of Lake Loveland water, which has a <br />face value of 40 acre feet, at a price of $36,000. Mr. Rybus noted that Lake <br />Loveland water has the best delivery rate of the Greeley-Loveland system <br />waters. He said that funds are available, and the staff reconmends that this <br />water be purchased. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Julianne Haefeli and seconded by Jack Cochran to approve <br />the purchase of one contract right of Lake Loveland Irrigation Company from <br />the East Greeley Land Company. The motion was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. CONSIDERATION OF A PROPOSAL TO TRADE GREELEY-LOVELAND SYSTEM WATER <br />FOR CBT UNITS <br /> <br />This offer from Mr. Martin Bird proposed an exchange of Greeley-Loveland <br />system waters and $20,000 cash for 290 units of the City's C~T water. Mr. <br />Rybus presented historical yield information for each type of water. He noted <br />that C~T water is very beneficial to the City because it can be used at both <br />of the treatment plants, and surplus amounts can be rented to other water <br />districts and farmers. Mr. Lawrence added that CBT water has better yields in <br />dry years than other types of water. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Richard Boettcher and seconded by Kim Lawrence to decline <br />this offer. The motion was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. CONSIDERATION OF AN OFFER TO EXCHANGE 108 ACRE FEET OF GREELEY-LOVELAND <br />SYSTEM WATER AND CASH FOR ONE UNIT OF THE WINDY GAP PROJECT <br /> <br />Mark Rybus explained that this was an offer to exchange one unit of the City's <br />Windy Gap water (100 acre feet) for 108 acre feet of Greeley-Loveland system <br />
