PROJECT PURPOSE:

1.) To Conserve Water
2.) To improve the irrigation distribution system.

3.) To reduce soil erosion.

4.) To improve water quality.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION (job type, size, quantities, area

The project area is located approximately five miles
south of Silt, Colorado. It will serve 227 acres of
agricultural land of which 130 acres is currently under
flood irrigation. The area is mostly North facing slopes at
an elevation of 5,700 feet.

The water comes from the Multi Trina Ditch and runs
along county Road 326 in open ditches. This series of
earthen ditches creates erosion and high water losses for
the landowners.

This project will include the installation of headgate
structures, underground pipelines to distribute water to
five landowners, gated pipe and/or sprinkler systems.
