<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EXHffiIT A <br />Scope of Work <br />South Platte Diversion Structure Inventory Project <br />December 16, 2002 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The project currently being conducted is a pilot project to develop an inventory of <br />diversion structures along the South Platte River. It is the intent of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board, Water Supply Planning and Finance Section to utilize this information as a <br />marketing tool to develop new construction loans to rehabilitate and/or improve existing <br />structures along this reach of the South Platte River. <br /> <br />In April of 2002, the Colorado Water Conservation Board hired the services of the <br />Farnsworth Group, Incorporated, to evaluate the hydraulic and structural condition of various <br />raw water diversion structures along the South Platte River, from the Town of Henderson to the <br />Colorado/Nebraska State line, The Colorado Water Conservation Board, Water Supply <br />Planning and Finance Section entered into Contract C15394, with the Farnsworth Group for an <br />amount not-to-exceed $30,465, to complete these services, During the course of the project it <br />became apparent that the current contract amount of $30,465 was not going to be sufficient to <br />complete the project, The consultant was instructed to complete as much work possible with the <br />understanding that the Colorado Water Conservation Board would attempt to budget additional <br />funds in fiscal year 2003 to complete the project. All work associated with Contract C15394 <br />was completed by the Consultant in June of 2002, <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />To-date the Farnsworth Group has completed the field inventory for all the diversion <br />structures along the South Platte from the Town of Henderson to the City of Greeley (District 2), <br />The field data collected from these structures (photos, coordinates, layout drawings, condition <br />sununary, repair/replacement scenarios, contacts, etc,) have been downloaded into a preliminary <br />computer database to be integrated with a selected GIS software package. <br /> <br />The remaining items to be completed along the main stem of the South Platte River <br />within District's I and 64, assuming 22 diversion structures to be evaluated in the field are <br />summarized as follows: <br /> <br />I) Research and planning <br />a) Review data provided by CWCB. <br />b) Plot the location of structures on USGS quad sheets and plan access routes, <br /> <br />2) Field inventory - visit each project site to make measurements, note structure condition and <br />take pictures, Tasks will include: <br />a) Field observation <br />b) Measure and sketch <br />c) Photographs <br />d) Notes regarding condition of the structure and needed repairs <br /> <br />Lower South Platte Diversion Structure Inventory Project <br />
