,~

Woodward.Clyde Consultants

Mr. Keith Eberhardt
Colorado Water Conservation Board
January 8, 1991
Page 2

Item (4).

Item (5).

second line should read: ''The slurry wall will extend about ~ feet on
either side..."
Clarification: The cement-bentonite slurry wall described for alternative
one and the soil-bentonite slurry walls described for alternatives two and
three are different lengths. The 200 foot length of wall for alternative one
was chosen to provided a centerline cutoff through the major portion of
. the darn. The slurry wall length of 300 feet for alternative two was
selected to tie in with the width of the upstream clay blanket. The slurry
wall width of 100 feet for alternative three, the selected alternative, was
designed to correspond to the width of the bottom excavation. For both
alternatives two and three, extending the slurry wall beyond these lengths
would involve cutting the upstream face to accommodate the slurry wall
construction equipment.

(Referring to Section 6.0 Estimated Costs) - Errata and Clarification -
Attached to this letter are Tables 6-1 through 6-6 to replace Tables 6-1
through 6-5. An additional table (Table 6-4) was prepared to provide an
itemized cost estimate for the spillway construction costs. This spillway
construction cost was included with the replacement cost estimate tables
for the three alternatives, Tables 6-1 through 6-3. In the previous tables,
the mobilization, construction engineering and other contingency factors
had not been added to the spillway construction costs. Including these
factors resulted in an increase in the costs of all three alternatives.

In Table 6-3 there was an error in the length of slurry wall and in Table
6-5 there was an error in the total project costs for alternative one: these
errors were corrected as shown on Tables 6-3 and 6-6.

(Referring to the Corporate Resolution and Section 8.0 Financial
Program) - Errata - A new corporate resolution by the Windsor Reservoir
and Canal Company and a revised Financial Program (Table 8-1) are
attached to replace the same in the report. The project costs and loan
amounts correspond between the financial program and corporate
resolution. The new financial program assumes that the Windsor

22539j22539.LEl Ol-ll8-91jREPORTS3(kaj)
