<br />ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION
<br />
<br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
<br />
<br />That the undersigned Ernest Lyckman, Edgar Hall and Geo M, Oringdulph all of the
<br />County of Costilla in the state of Colorado have associated themselves together for the purpose
<br />of incorporating a mutual ditch and reservoir company not for pecuniary profit, and becoming
<br />a body corporate and politic under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Colorado, and in
<br />accordance therewith, do make, execute and acknowledge this certificate which shall be and
<br />constitute the Articles of Incorporation of THE SANCHEZ DITCH AND RESERVOIR
<br />COMPANY,
<br />ARTICLE I
<br />The name of said company shall be THE SANCHEZ DITCH AND RESERVOIR
<br />COMPANY.
<br />
<br />ARTICLE II
<br />The objects for which said company is created are:
<br />To acquire by purchase, lease, entry, appropriation, grant, devise, gift or otherwise,
<br />real estate and water rights, to operate and utilize the same; to buy, sell exchange or mortgage
<br />property, both real and personal; to build, purchase and acquire by any means irrigating
<br />ditches, canals and reservoirs and appurtenant works in Costilla County, Colorado, and to
<br />manage and operate the same rights and franchises heretofore belonging to holders of contracts
<br />with San Luis Power and Water Company for the right to use water out of the Rio Costilla and
<br />reservoirs located thereon or supplied therefrom; to exercise all of the powers, rights and
<br />franchises now exercised or authorized to be exercised by the San Luis Tower and Water
<br />Company, save and except the right to distribute or sell water for profit; to manage, control
<br />and operate said ditches, canals and reservoirs for the benefit of the individual water owners
<br />and users thereunder, and to distribute, fairly and equitably, the water therefrom to said
<br />individual owners an users as each may be entitled.
<br />ARTICLE III
<br />The stream or source from which the water is taken and used by this corporation is
<br />known as the Rio Culebra.
<br />ARTICLE IV
<br />The location of the reservoirs in which water of this corporation are or may be stored
<br />and the description of the ditches and canals to be used by said corporation are as follows:

<br />The Sanchez Reservoir, located in Sections 1,2, 11, 12, 14, 15, 22, and 23, Twp. IN, R. 72
<br />W., Section 6 in Twp. IN., R, 71 W., Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 35, and 36 in Twp. 2N., R.
<br />72 W., and Sections 30 and 31 in Twp. 2 N., R. 71 W. of the Sixth Principal Meridian, in
<br />Costilla County, Colorado, according to the map and statement filed in the office of the State
<br />Engineer of the State of Colorado on April 18, 1910.

<br />CULEBRA SANCHEZ CANAL
<br />The Culebra Sanchez Canal, being that certain canal taking water the Culebra Creek, the
<br />Ballejos Creek and the San Francisco Creek, for storage in the Sanchez Reservoir a plat of
<br />which was filed in the office of the State Engineer of Colorado on the 18th day of April 1910.
