<br />I <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />II <br />I <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />PLAN OF STUDY <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose of the Cone Reservoir Feasibility Study is to <br /> <br /> <br />determine the design requirements for enlarging the existing Cone <br /> <br /> <br />Reservoir to hold approximately 4,000 acre-feet of additional <br /> <br /> <br />capacity, and to determine construction costs, manner of operation, <br /> <br /> <br />and method of repayment. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Level of Investigation <br /> <br />This will be a complete feasibility study performed in <br /> <br /> <br />sufficient detail to provide accurate cost estimates and repayment <br /> <br /> <br />schedules, as well as providing sufficient geologic and hydrologic <br /> <br /> <br />information to initiate discussions with the State Engineer regarding <br /> <br /> <br />preferred design configuration. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Previous Work <br /> <br />The San Miguel Water Conservancy District has expended <br /> <br /> <br />approximately $30,000 in advancing the proposed Cone Reservoir <br /> <br /> <br />Enlargement to its current status. These expenditures have provided: <br /> <br />1. A reconnaissance level evaluation of various high level <br /> <br /> <br />reservoir sites and improvement plans, and the determination <br /> <br /> <br />that Cone Reservoir represents the most cost effective and <br /> <br /> <br />practical first stage development. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Preliminary water supply analysis. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Aerial photography of dam and reservoir area and the preparation <br /> <br /> <br />of detailed topographic maps at a 5 foot contour interval for <br /> <br /> <br />the reservoir and at a 2 foot interval for the dam. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Two core holes on the right abutment and preliminary geologic <br />appraisal. <br /> <br /> <br />'ESTERN <br />ENeINEER$.
