In evaluating the costs fOr the entire proposed improvements, it is

realized that the town's water system cannot support the repayment of any

loans required to finance the Project. However, the cost estimates will

be presented and a tabulation of priorities will be made; and based on

the financial capabilities of the town's water system, recommendations

will be made.

The estimates of cost to develop the ground water domestic water

system will be kept separate from the other costs for improving the

existing system. It must be remembered that the cost for the distribution

system and storage facilities will remain the same whether surface or

ground water is used.

It was discussed earlier in this report that consideration should be

given to moving the point of diversion of water out Brush Creek closer to

the existing treatment facility. It was mentioned that this point of di-

version be relocated to a poin~ about 14,000 feet above the present treat-

ment facility. In the 1970 to 1971 construction period 4,500 feet of new

12" cast iron pipe was laid from the treatment facility South (up Brush

Creek). When making out the CQst estimates for the proposed point of di-

version, the cost of only 9,50Q feet of pipe will be considered.

Pages 55 and 56 will give the estimate of costs and summary of esti-

mated project costs to rehabilttate the existing system using the present

intake structure and settling ponds. Pages 57 and 58 will give the esti-

mate of costs and summary of e~timated project costs for the relocating

of the intake structure to a pOint about 14,000 feet above the existing

filter plant. Pages 59,60, and 61 will give the estimate of cost and

summary of estimated project Costs for the use of developing a ground
