~

Development

There are several proposed developments near the town of Eagle which

will require domestic water and which will probably want to be served do-

mestic water from the Eagle water system.

The Eagle Ranch Corporation, which owns a considerable amount of

acreage in the Brush Creek Valley above Eagle, is further along with this

plan than most of the other proposed development in the valley. The firm

of Wright Water Engineers, Inc. is in the process of completing a water

report for the Eagle Ranch Corporation and the development plan, as prepared

by Harmon, O'Donnell, and Henninger Associates, tabulates the water require-

ments for this development. These tables have been included in this report

at the request of Wright Water Engineers, Inc. The tabulations are listed

on pages 4 through 7 of the Harmon, O'Donnell, and Henninger Associates

report, and are entitled Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, and Table 4. These tables

are included in this report following this section.

It is anticipated that the Eagle Ranch Corporation would be willing to

trade some of its water rights to the town of Eagle in exchange for the

town of Eagle providing treated domestic water for their proposed development.

However, this is 'only speculation as the exact plans of not only the Eagle

Ranch Corporation, but other planned developments such as Adam's Rib are

not available to the public.

Table 2 illustrates that the total ultimate water requirements from

Brush Creek will be 1,468.5 acre-feet of water per year. The month of July

will require the most water at 246.4 acre-feet, or 4.01 cubic feet per

second (cfs). Of the July total of 246.4 acre-feet or water, 68.1 acre-feet

of water is required for domestic and commercial consumption, The balance

of the water requirement will be used for irrigating lawns, greenbelt, golf

.

~

.

courses, etc.

- 21 -
