"

Construction Alternate Number One does not provide for the rehabilitation of

the distribution system, but it is felt that in assigning priorities the dis-

tribution system could be upgraded at a later date. Top priority should be

given to securing adequate water rights on Brush Creek, in order that the

town may legally use water out of Brush Creek and provide a security for

lending agencies. The Town presently owns priority number 501, in the amount

of 1.13 cfs dated October 12, 1953; and priority number 521 in the amount of
0.11 cfs also dated October 12, 1953.

It is extremely difficult to assign a value for water rights on Brush

Creek as most of the water rights have changed hands with the land. However,

on July 2, 1975, the town was offered a water right in Brush Creek, priority

number 55 - Love and White Ditch, in the amount of 4.70 cubic feet per second

for a cash price of $60,000. This is an approximate cost of $13,000 per cfs.

The expanded filtering capacity of the present treatment plant would require

a water right of 3.08 cfs.

.

,.

.

iv
