I

I

District's regulations and control. To date the Lost Creek District has not

adopted rules and regulations for the use and control of groundwater within the

I

District. Therefore, all ground~vater use, appropriations, and ';-Te1l permits
are controlled in accordance with State Law SB-2l3 and policy guidelines of

I

the Colorado Groundwater Commission. Annual appropriations and well permits

I

are issued based on 1/100 of the estimated life of the acquifer. Well permits

are limited to 1/2 mile spacing between wells into the same acquifer unless

I

closer spacing is specifically recommended by the staff following geological

and hydrological investigation.

I

Of the six existing municipal wells, only the last three (Wells No.4, 5

and 6) have been properly registered with the State Engineer's office and a permit

I

with the annual appropriation issued.
