In accordance <br /> <br />with state and federal legal requirements, all accounts are audited on an <br /> <br />.annual basis. Copies of the Audited Financial Statements prepared by .the <br /> <br />firm of Connors, Hogan, Hiles and Kumagai, Certified Public Accounta~lts, <br /> <br />Denver, Colorado for the years ending December 31, 1973 and 1974 are included <br />as APPENDIX A, 1 & 2. <br /> <br />An analysis of the 1970 Colorado Census summary tables for the Bennett <br /> <br />area shows a total aggregate income of $1,301,150 for 181 families and 15 <br /> <br />unrelated individuals. The mean income per family was $6,850 and the mean <br /> <br />income per unrelated individual was $4,084. The median annual income was <br /> <br />approximately $6,330 in 1970. The median income in the community is sur- <br /> <br />prisingly low and is substantially lower than the state and county figures <br /> <br />for median annual income. Census data shows that while the median income <br /> <br />for Adams County was 128.7% of the state median income, the Bennett com- <br /> <br />~unity median income was only 86.5% of the state figure and 67.2% of the <br />county figure. <br /> <br />G. PHYSICAL ASSETS <br /> <br />The character of the Town is primarily residential in nature with a <br /> <br />mixture of single family homes and mobile homes. Mobile homes make up <br /> <br />about 42% of the dwelling units and are partially confined to crowded <br /> <br />mobile home parks and partially scattered throughout the community on <br /> <br />residential lots. Host dwelling units are older homes and are in good <br /> <br />condition. Approximately 70% of the dwelling units are rated as standard <br />or above-standard. <br /> <br />Bennett has a consolidated school district located in the northeast <br /> <br />part of town. The school system consists of an elementary school, a junior <br /> <br />high school, and a senior high school with separate buildings for each <br /> <br />-5- <br />
