<br />Potential Development <br /> <br />EXISTlliG IRRIGATION SYSTEMS <br /> <br />The reservoir will provide water for 11 existing independent <br />irrigation systems. All are within the boundary of the Purgatoire <br />River Conservancy District and are clITrently in operation, Each <br />system is in satisfactory working condition, but in some instances <br />maintenance work of a minor nature is imminent, All systems have <br />adequate capacity for serving the irrigable lands, Water is <br />diverted to the systems by seven diversion dams, Four of these <br />are concrete structures and are in good condition, Three diversion <br />dams, the Model, Chilili, and El Moro, are rockfill structures <br />which are to be replaced or renovated by the respective ditch <br />companies when flood protection is afforded by the project. The <br />Chilili and El Moro diversion dams are small, but with proper <br />maintenance are adequate for div8rting the required small quantities <br />of water. All systems are gravity flow except the Burns and Duncan <br />which utilizes a pump.
